1-color offset printed poster and two-color screenprint. Encyclopedia of Hip Hop Evolution was a series of hip hop workshops and performances at Intermedia Arts. The identity was an attempt to retain the grittiness and roots of hip hop without resorting to cliches. Graffiti was re-interpreted as hand-drawn type and photography of painted-over graf. For the Live Hip Hop poster all the artists’ names were drawn from photographs of type in Minneapolis.
