The MVA is a Minneapolis-based creative studio specializing in design and art direction, image-making, and content development. The studio was co-founded by J. Namdev Hardisty and Kimberlee Whaley in 2003.
Clients include Altamont Apparel, Analog Clothing, Corleone Records, éS Skateboarding, Hardisty-Disk Records, Mark Batty Publisher, the Soap Factory, Sole Technology, and the Weisman Art Museum.
The first book authored by The MVA "New Skateboard Graphics" (Mark Batty Publisher, NYC) is out now. Our 2nd book for Mark Batty "DIY Album Art: Paper Bags and Office Supplies" was released in August 2009.
Current projects: Promotional collateral and an exhibition catalog for GM 10: A Theory of Values at the Soap Factory as well as promotions for their upcoming Haunted Basement; a custom package to house the licensed music collection of Asche & Spencer; and a new website for Corleone Records.
